This photo was voted best combat photo of 1968. It was taken by Donnie Shearer. The man in the background throwing the grenade, died a few minutes later. The second photo shows Sgt. Anthony Hartman of B Company, 1st Battalion, 3rd Marine Division as he yells at his squad to, “Ammo up.”
