A Little Thing Called Honor
I had to get this off of my chest because it was about to burn a hole through my brain.  I never suppress an idea when it comes to me.  Its about 5:30 a.m. here on the other side of the world, and despite being tired, I couldn’t shake these thoughts.  Lately, a lot of my buds in the unit have talked a lot about the reasoning behind our conflicts on this side of the world.  I watched two...

Lyricists
I’ve been reading a lot of lyrics lately, mainly to incite some inspiration for my writing.  I feel that many of these clever lines fail to get recognized, so I’m making it my mission to place some of my favorite lyrics up on the blog.  Hope you enjoy!

Solitude
I woke up this morning in the usual groundhog-esque way, feeling like Bill Murray.  I would be lying if I said I didn’t feel lonely out here sometimes.  Iraq is a testament of solitude for me.  But, the thing that struck me the hardest is the need for God internally.  We all traverse the path of life in seclusion.  Though, at times, we may feel less lonely there is a conscious recognition...

Remembering who you are...
I guess I’m not your “typical” army guy.  I don’t really have a fetish for guns, tobacco, or kicking down doors.  I have never really felt welcome in this community but I’ve found some very interesting things about myself throughout this deployment, so far.      Number one:  No matter where you are, whether it be home or a million miles away, you control...
